Morgan Matheson
Morgan Matheson breaks down her barriers to share her story. Her parents are alcoholics, and as a young girl, she grew up in and out of women's shelters, with her mother fleeing domestic violence. Morgan raised her younger brother and took on the responsibility of being a parental figure for him at a very young age. She endured physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. Morgan wants to share her experiences and inspire others who may be going through similar situations. Morgan always knew she wanted to give back. Right out of high school, she went into nursing. She simply loves helping people. During Coivd, several women in our community reached out to her because they were unable to reach the resources needed or did not know where to find them for things like food insecurities, mental health support, school supplies, and domestic violence. Morgan reached out to some amazing women in our community to start a nonprofit organization to address these needs. After two years of research, meetings, and education, she launched the Chestermere Women's Crisis Society. The goal is to provide resources and support to those affected by domestic violence and crisis in the community. CWCS also understands that crisis are different for everyone. Morgan would like to talk to you about her life, ongoing struggles, politics, religion, and everything in between. Morgan always appreciates feedback, suggestions, or questions. She hopes you tune in and join her on her journey.
